PowerShell Webcasts and virtual Labs covering Exchange 2007 and MMC 3.0

Matt Hester, a Microsoft IT Pro Evangelist, did 2 webcasts about PowerShell and both with a complementing virtual Lab.

Matt Hester and I did meet at teched Boston last year : /\/\o\/\/ PowerShelled: TechEd RoundUp

Matt was doing Ask the Experts, and was located at the PowerShell booth and they were a bit low on PowerShell resources, so I did stand in at the Booth as much as possible to answer PowerShell Questions and do some demo's in between my sessions and other activities  so we did spend considerable time at the PowerShell booth together, had a good time discussing PowerShell and doing demos there and I did learn to know Matt as a great guy.

Now Math did 2 great Webcasts about PowerShell and with those webcasts also  virtual lab's are provided enabling you to get some hands on with the material covered in the webcast after watching it.

The first one giving an introduction PowerShell scripting with Exchange is really recommended ! , also if you do not work with exchange ( I did not work with exchange 2007 myself also yet ) this session , as it contains a lot of generic PowerShell information especially the first half, same as Evan Dodds's TechEd session video about Exchange management with PowerShell  I blogged about before, will give insight into how great this cooperation between PowerShell , an application and the MMC, that is build on top of PowerShell, can be and the great value this does add for management of it.

To watch a replay of the webcast take a look here:

Good introductory Virtual Lab:
Using the Exchange Server 2007 Management Console and Shell

The second Webcast goes on about how this works and how to add PowerShell support to applications and how to use MMC 3.0 to do this, this session is a bit more development oriented, but still might be interesting for admin's also as it gives a good background about the way the MMC interacts and uses powershell.

Replay of the Webcast: Windows PowerShell and Microsoft Management Console

Virtual lab: Longhorn Server - Windows PowerShell and MMC Labcast On-Demand

The reference links from the webcasts and the answers to the questions asked in you can find on Matt Hester's blog here:

Windows PowerShell and Microsoft Management Console (08-02-2007)

A great addition to the - fast growing amount - of PowerShell resources available again.

Thanks  Matt !

Enjoy,

Greetings /\/\o\/\/

Some other goodies geared more towards developers...

And in general the blog itself http://blogs.msdn.com/daiken has lots of good dev-related info.
