PowerShell GUI forms Editor and new PodCast

As I was kind of busy last week so a bit late but very interesting PowerShell News.

PowerScripting Podcast - Episode 9

my favorite quote from this episode :

"did he know enough to be impressed by what you did ?"

And Joe did point me to Admin Script Editor v3.0 and the PowerShell support they added in a Comment about my PowerShell WMI Explorer , Thanks !

On there site you can also find a Very Cool Flash video of building PowerShell Forms :

The ScriptForm Designer™ can even create native Windows Forms leveraging the Microsoft .NET Framework! (see a quick flash video demonstration)

Very Impressive, a complete GUI Form Editor for PowerShell build in !!

ANd also there is a PowerShell forum on there site for support,  I downloaded a trail version but had no time to play with it yet, so more info later.

Oher PowerShell editor news the  PowerShell Plus  prive beta will be extended to PSA customers (more about this also in the Podcast.)

Enjoy,

Greetings /\/\o\/\/

At the point where PowerShell development starts looking and feeling like standard .Net programming, then I stop seeing the utility of PowerShell.  Yes, as a language, there are some great features, but VB.Net and C# have great features as well and they aren't saddled with some of the limitations inherent in PowerShell.

Joe,

I think also for script usage it's handy to be able to make a simple form.

Think for example HTA for VbSCript and the adoption of that.

also a Script editor is a bit different from a complete Visual Studio environment.

and ofcourse you can still (as I mostly do) do your damage from the Console itself.

As I looked at the Admin Script Editor, is that it is starting to go down the path of becoming "Visual Studio for PowerShell", down to the creation of forms and "compiled" executables.  For me this kinda misses the beauty of PowerShell.  I really prefer the direction of PowerGui and PowerShell Analyzer.  Ultimately, I think the marketplace will determine the winner.  I certainly know where I'll be spending my limited cash and where I won't.
